Turn Ya Sexy Up by @dirtdolla - Uploaded by: Lady Shack - @ovrdatoppromo

South Carolina’s own, Derrick “Dirt Dolla” Ofori, was introduced to the elements of hip hop through his older brother “DJ DC Raym”. He worked his way up to the big stage by performing at skating rinks, house parties, and other major festivals around the Greenville Spartanburg area. At the young age of 13 he dove into the music industry with his first commercial release with a group called Unexplained Phenomenonz. They won multiple contests and with one win were awarded the opportunity to open up for the Notorious B.I.G.

Dirt Dolla’s degree in Business Entrepreneurship contributes greatly to his success as a business man in the music industry. His business sense about music, marketing and promotion has made him a powerhouse producer/artist that sets him apart from others in the industry. During his college days he formed 2 Da Realness Entertainment, LLC, a full service indie record label that focused on supporting the efforts of both college and street rappers and singers. Today, 2 Da Realness Entertainment has expanded and is now a diverse entertainment company that specializes in music production, music video, photography, and graphic design.

Dirt Dolla has a sound like no other. His musical talents as an artist is heavily influenced by his brother DJ DC Raym and old school soul artists. He formed the hip hop duo, Da UnXplained, with fellow artist Teddy “T-Loc” McKissick. Although they collaborate on several projects, they are both established as solo artists. In the Fall of 2007, they teamed up to release the album entitled S.L.U.M (Southern Life Underground Music). The S.L.U.M album created a buzz in the Carolinas and Atlanta that gained them various performance opportunities at For Sisters Only in Charlotte and Atlanta, the Atlanta Car and Bike Show, and the V-103 Birthday Bash, just to name a few.

“Dirt Dolla” was a recent guest on 107.1 WFXM and 89.3 WRFG where he promoted the new hit single, Diamonds in the Sky featuring “T-Loc”. The single has over 50,000 downloads and is getting regular rotation on over 18 internet radio stations and over 14 terrestrial FM stations. Dirt Dolla has shared the stage with various southern artist including EightBall, Rocko, and Young Jeezy just to name a few.
