Dem Show Stoppas Did Soulja Boy Steal Their Song??

Who says these guys are just 1 hit wonders??? Dem Show Stoppas created one of the most popular songs of 2008, "Whoop Rico". "Whoop Rico" is a song that was created that also had a signature dance that was a combination of figthing techniques and classical Atlanta Snap movements. The song became a sensation amongst kids and college students all over the world. "Whoop Rico" became so popular that Soulja Boy himself signed the group to a major record deal and placed the song on his "Soulja Boy Tell Em" Album. The question is what happened next?? Well Dem Show Stoppas are back and they are setting the record straight with their new mixtape that's blazing the streets called "Security Step Up Deep".

Mike-Dingo(Mike Dawonde), Trez (Montrez Camp), and Smurfey Lee (Charles Perry III), came together to form a fresh hip hop trio that stops shows, but never stops making music. The Show Stoppas met during their teenage years, and with all the transitions that occur during this time, they lost a few members. Even with losing over half of the members, they still didn’t stop.

Originally they came together as an energetic dance group, and they experienced a lot of success. Particularly, The Show Stoppas can be seen dancing with DJ Unk on Spring Bling to the hit song “Walk It Out,” Soulja Boy in countless videos, and Andre 3000 during his concert for Class of 3000. After awhile the Show Stoppas decided that dancing for others was great, but it was time to dance to their own music.

Shortly after their decision, they went into the studio and recorded Billy Jean,” the song was placed on YouTube, and the very next day they received thousands of hits. On top of that, viewers even started posting their own dances to the track. Then they released the song that would make their phones ring off the hook for months, Whoop Rico.”

Following the release of the Whoop Rico,” The Show Stoppas signed with Stacks on Deck(SOD) and Universal Music. The video appeared on 106&Park, and on Soulja Boy’s album ¡SouljaboyTell’em. Due to their commitment to making good music, being entertainers, and their integrity, it was soon clear that they would need to leave their label.

Even after leaving SOD, the Show Stoppas, still didn’t stop. They went on to sign with RocHarder Entertainment, a label under the leadership of world-renowned #1 Record Breaker DJ T-Roc. Since signing, they have been featured on the LOD College Tour, recorded with Big Bank Black (artist with the hit song “Try It Out”), and done countless shows in the Southeast at high schools, clubs, and the Hittmenn DJ Reunion.

Now with a promising mix tape Security Step Up Deep, the talented trio is continuously turned up during the shows. Still very dedicated to literally stopping the show, the trio will never be found two stepping, or standing still holding the mic. Rather the Show Stoppas are known for combining hip hop and fresh dance techniques to step to the top.
